Premonition of pregnancy through picture/vision/dream?

Whilst having sex, I had a 'picture' of a lotus flower opening up and a baby coming out the centre of it. I have never seen this before and learnt that lotus flower symbolizies life.

Has anyone else ever had this kind of premonition, if it is one, or similar? I don't know if I'm pregnant yet, but I can test next week.

Premonition of pregnancy through picture/vision/dream?
no but i had a dream last night that I had a bfp and everyone was congratulating me! it might not mean anything but my af is due next monday so we will see what happens.

Good Luck :)

*_*Loads of Baby Dust*_*
Reply:perhaps it's not a premonition but rather a visualisation....sometimes visualisation can assist with bodily functions....ie.....using your mind to assist achieve orgasm, etc.......

perhaps you were subconsciously willing/coaxing your reproduction organs to be receptive to a pregancy........

I wish you all the best! Down to luck now!
Reply:My first advice is to stop taking whatever substance it is that is giving you these hullucinations.

Stay safe
Reply:doesn't mean anything. i had a dream where all i did was drop my baby. I'm not pregnant, and am scared to death of babies. doesn't mean I'm going to drop my kid.

do you and your husband want kids? if not, use a condom until you do.

Help with finding an image?

I've been trying to find a particular kind of image that combines two different religious symbols. I've looked on google images, yahoo images, and lycos and can't seem to find anything even remotely resembling what I'm looking for. I can find the separate symbols easily but can't find a picture that combines them. I'm hoping some of you here might be able to offer some assistance. I'm looking for a picture that combines the Buddhist symbol of the lotus flower with the pagan symbol of the pentagram. Any help you can offer in finding a picture like this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Kali Yantra. The encompassing circle is avidya (ignorance);the eight petalled lotus is the eight-fold Prkriti consisting of earth, wter, fire, air, ether, manas (mind), buddhi (intellect) and ahamkara (egoism); the five triangles are the five jnanendriyas (jnana, knowledge; indriyas, senses), the five karmendriyas (motor organs) and the five pranas (breathing activities); and the bindu which is pure consciousness reflected in maya in the bija.

What is the process of making your own herbal cigarettes?

I have a recipe for making my own herbal cigarettes out of combining any choice of the following: marshmallow leaves, red clover flowers, rose petals, yerba santa, damiana, passion flower, jasmine, ginseng, bayberry, osha root, mullein, red willow, red sumac, lovage bark, spearmint, peppermint, wild lettuce, catnip, skullcap, fly agaric or pantherina mushrooms, blue lotus, pink lotus, motherwart, salvia divinorum, wormwood, maltodextrin. After choosing which herbs to use you are suppose to soak them in extracts of one or more of the following: kava kava, valarian, lettuce opium, skullcap, passion flower, maltodextrin, vanilla, honey, fruit juices. Then you are suppose to use leaves of lotus, cornsilk, or licorice root ( or a combo of these) for rolling them/filtering?? Anyways, they were not very specific on how to actually do all of this and I wondered if anyone knew which of these herbs go good together, how long I should soak them and dry them for, etc... Thanks!

do not be stupid. make friends with some local stoners and smoke good weed. I no longer smoke it but will again some day once it is legal.

Kingdom Hearts Lotus Forest?

Hello, in the Lotus Forest I am trying to give the yellow flower the potion to make me big again. But when I target the flower, and then use hi-potion on it, it doesn't do anything? Am I using the right potion and doing it correctly?

Kingdom Hearts Lotus Forest?
You should have some.... but if you dont, go to traverse town and buy some potions at the item shop, the one with huey duey and luey..... they cost 25 muney each...

Reply:You are using the wrong kind of potion. You should be using 'potion' instead of 'hi-potion' and yes you are doing it correctly

I finally figured out what i want for my next tattoo, but i don’t know where to put it?

It going to be a lotus flower, on a peddle with raindrops....i already have tribal symbol on my lower back

I finally figured out what i want for my next tattoo, but i don’t know where to put it?
Find an artist who is able to draw this out on you for best results. Be sure of course he/shop are clean (autoclave, bloodborne pathogens certified, etc) and check portfolios of their work! Depending on how your tribal is done you can incorporate what you currently want into what you already have and extend/modify your lower back.
Reply:It could be really cute on the back of your neck.. ??
Reply:put it on ur nipple!
Reply:put it on ur hip or ur side

Is it wrong to get a religiously symbolic tattoo if you are not parto of that religion?

I would like to get a lotus flower tattoo with the om symbol in the center. I am not a Buddhist, but I love what the symbols represent. They are very meaningful and I think it reflects a part of my own personal beliefs. Would it be wrong of me to get the tattoo because I am not a Buddhist?

Is it wrong to get a religiously symbolic tattoo if you are not parto of that religion?
My dear, tatts are forever. If you decided you don't like it later, the cost and scarring involved are a high price to pay for a decision made today.

Do you have a religion? Isn't there something within your religion that has meaning? Just curious...

Peace be with you.
Reply:It's your body, do as you wish. I don't have any tattoos, but I've always wanted a white dove carrying a rose across my back and shoulders. That seems kind of symbolic of the Holy Spirit, yet I am an atheist.
Reply:Symbols belong to different cultures and have different meanings attached. Look at the history of the swastika. Buddhism doesn't have a monopoly on the lotus flower.

If you want to get that tattoo, there's no reason why you shouldn't.
Reply:I don't see anything wrong with that. People that are not chinese get chinese words tattoos all the time. The only thing is that people might ask you what it means if they don't already know but I'm sure you won't mind explaining.
Reply:you should get tattoos that represnt your own intrest or life....you also have to remember that when you grow up that lotus flower will look like a dead wrinkly flower
Reply:To me, any tattoo is wrong.

But that is my opinion, God will be the only judge.

Peace and Blessings!
Reply:No its not wrong -- if the symbols and what they represent are meaningul to you and reflects your personal beliefs, so be it. Get it done.

Many religions are intertwined and while you can be labeled "christian, jew, muslim" you can also take other religions theories or beliefs and incorporate them into your life. no one says you can't -- except those who are scared of other beliefs.
Reply:The Bible frowns on tatooing. Since it disfiguers the body.
Reply:If it is meaningful to you is of utmost importance. Keep in mind however that tastes change over the years. When I was 16 I designed a tattoo that was very meaningful to me at the time. I never got it and now more than 15 years later I would not want the same one. I have changed too much.
Reply:Why does it matter if you are a part of their religion or not. That's like saying you can't get a tattoo of a world war II tank, because you were not in the war.
Reply:poser
Reply:No. The wrong religious tattoos are the ones where they have Jesus on one side and a symbolic tattoo of murdering on the other. They claim to be so religious yet they are killing people in the streets. It aggravates me
Reply:My personal belief, is that a tatoo...even more then they way a person dresses and acts..identifies you with that thing.

When you put a mark on your body that is permanent...you have to think about what you are doing.
Reply:No not at all, its just a tattoo and if that's how you wish to express yourself, go for it

I have a few ideas for a tattoo but i'm not sure to combine the ideas into a theme or not?

I really want to get a water themed tattoo..waves, ocean stuff kinda like that. But I want a Japanese art style tattoo as well, but I don't want a Koi fish as traditional Japanese water tattoos have. Also I like Sakura flowers and lotus blossoms. Should I find a way to incorporate that together or just keep them seperate to a water themed one and a japanese art style one?

I have a few ideas for a tattoo but i'm not sure to combine the ideas into a theme or not?
I'd go for a theme. Most artists will like the challenge, and there is enough stuff already out there to get you started. If you can find stuff with elements of what you'd like, the artist can likely take it from there.

I just brought my basic thoughts and a hideous pencil sketch to my artist, and she created my backpiece from that.
Reply:You should be able to look on the internet and find all kinds of designs that incorporate all of the things you mentioned. If you don't find one you like, you should be able to take several samples of things you do like to a good tattoo artist and get them to draw something up for you. I think the waves, koi fish, and flowers sounds like a really cool idea for a tattoo! Good luck.
Reply:There is a really famous Japanese painting of just waves, and it's really beautiful. I'm sorry I don't know the title, but it's for sale in poster stores a lot.
Reply:I have multiple tattoos...I think that you could probably combine some of those ideas into one tattoo because they go together well...go to a few different tattoo parlors and get them to draw you up some sketches...than you'll be able to choose from a few different ones before you make it permanent...most of all HAVE FUN!!

Where should I put a tattoo?

I want to get a tattoo of a lotus flower. Nothing huge, but nothing small. I already have a tattoo on my right shoulder blade. I was thinking of putting it in the middle of my back right below my neck. The thing about where I wanna get tattoo is that I am going to be losing weight. I don't want the tattoo to look stupid after I lose weight. Where should I put it???

Where should I put a tattoo?
A tattoo shouldn't change with weight loss, unless you're planning on losing like, 400+ pounds. Normally the change of a tattoo happens by the stretching of the skin, which is more than likely caused by the gaining of weight, not the losing. I would go ahead and do it, where you want it done - it's your body and you're the one that has to live with it - and not make yourself wait if you don't want to. Losing weight will not affect the shape, lines, color, shading, etc. of a tattoo. Go get it and I hope it turns out great!!!

Reply:don't get it until the weight is gone! or you could get it on a place that doesn't stretch or shrink. like a bony part. like your other shoulder blade?
Reply:i think you should get it done on the bottom of you back

even when you have lost weight it shouldnt change! =)
Reply:I would put it around the ankle...it is usually a steady space on the body and you would be able to show it off.

1 - that way it will go where you want it

2 - it will give you extra motivation

honestly, even if you do get it somewhere else, don't let strangers on the internet influence your decision....

Lotus and watter lily question?

does anyone have any hands on expierence growing these flowers? what would be a reasonnable price to pay fort hem and where do i buy them?

Lotus and watter lily question?
i grow hardy water lilies in my pond, they are quite easy to grow . i just pop them in to a pot it with some fertilizer every year for water garden and they just thrive. not much maintaining either, just cut off dead leaves and flower to keep the water clear and the look a bit cleaner. you can leave the hardy variety in the water through winter but take the tropical lotus and lily up and in a unheated garage.

the price are depend on the variety but most are less than $20 ( smaller plants go for only $5-10) most nursery carry them so just ask, they'll show you
Reply:Many garden centers are carrying the plants already in pots, but they tend to be pretty expensive for what you get ($20 each). I found some in the spring at Wal-Mart (of all places) sold in a cardboard box for $10. Inside, the root was bare and it came with some clay powder and a plastic tray to put it into, some stones to weigh it down. It didn't look like much, but actually grew pretty well and bloomed the first year.
Reply:For hardy lilies you don't need to pay more than 10-15 dollars. They are very prolific growers and will fill a sizable pot in one season. For tropicals, you will probably need to special order those. They can cost anywhere from 20 to 60 dollars, depending on your tastes. Depending on where you live, you might have the handle them differently if you want them to over winter.

Lotus are more expensive, but the growth habit is similar. I have a chawan basu I paid about 40 dollars for that does very well. The only drawback with lotus that I have is that they only flower for a fairly short period in late spring and early summer. After that, it's just a foliage show. Maybe other types work differently.

Depending on where you live, you should be able to find lilies and lotus locally at garden centers that carry pond equipment and plants. One good source of tropical lilies is Lilypons.

I had a dream i was standing above the world and all this light was comming out of my body?

two feet on the ground and my head out in the galaxy...it was likei was dripping some white liquid all over the world and then a huge lotus flower emerged out of the earth where it dripped and opened , i wanna go back to sleep... lol

I had a dream i was standing above the world and all this light was comming out of my body?
Actually White light represents a Divine light also it's a healing light and represents the crown chakra. what you were doing in your dream is surrounding the world with a healing light. There several people that also visualize this during their meditations
Reply:Snoopy and I agree
Reply:That wasn't a dream.

I saw you standing naked on the balcony with the landscaping flood lights shining all over your body.
Reply:If you want an interpretation, it means you ate your pizza too close to bed time.

1. You probably just had to pee. Don't drink too much water before going to sleep.

2. Maybe you are subconciously exploring the birth and death cycle of the life and the universe.

Most likely the first answer.

How to write my chinese name?

went to a Buddhist School, and was given a chinese name when I attended there. But i dont remember how to write the chinese characters for it. I remember how to say and spell it in English, and what it means:

Hwei Lien- Lotus Flower...

if anyone knows what the chinese characters are for this or where i could find out, would be much appreciated.

THanks!

How to write my chinese name?
For 'Hwei', it is read as "Hui"

and... "Hui" can either be '惠', '慧', '蕙', '卉', '彗' and many more. It depends on the meaning you want to have in your name. Some 'Hui-s' are for wisdom.

'Lien'(莲) is read as "Lian" in Chinese

There is only one character '莲' which means Lotus.

The meaning of the 'Hui-s' are as follows:

惠 hui4 favor / blessing

慧 hui4 intelligent

蕙 hui4 Coumarouna odorata

卉 hui4 plants

彗 hui4 comet

I think 惠莲 or 慧莲 will be best for you.

Lastly for your name 'Lena' is it read as "Lina"?

If it is, your Chinese name will be 丽娜 for Lena.

Hope these help :)

It should be lian2 hua1.

First tattoo, I need help with colors and placement.?

I am getting my first tattoo soon. I am getting a lotus flower and a snake and possibly a water aspect weaved into it as well. I would like to get an albino ball python, yellow and white, and a red lotus flower. I will probably position it on my back somewhere.

Do these colors easily bleed, or fade? Are these good color combinations? I have a medium fair skin. Would these colors work well on my skin tone?

These symbols are important to me. The snake represents change in my life. I don't look at myself as I change once and am finalized like a butterfly, but constantly shedding my old skin for new. Always changing, never the same.

The lotus flower is a prominent symbol in the Buddhist religion which I try hard to follow. It is a beautiful flower that grows out of the mud in ponds, comes out of something dark and nothingness and still makes it through to bloom into a beautiful creation.

The water would go along with the flower as well as water being an important aspect in my life.

First tattoo, I need help with colors and placement.?
The tattoo artist will know which colors are best to use. Let him/her know what you want and see what he/she suggests.
Reply:I have a red and yellow rose on my ankle (colors blended together) and it really does depend on how much sun will be exposed to it. I've had it 9 years and you can barely make out the yellow and I've seen yellow fade on other tattoos on other people. If you do get it on your back and not exposed to sun excessively I think you'll be fine. Sounds really pretty.

Its true what they say, once you get one, you'll want more!!!! Have fun.
Reply:sounds nice! i think it may look nice between ur shoulder blades, yeah i would keep it outta the sun and if u are in the sun make sure u put loads of cream on it help protect it, also id the ink used it good quality it will look better for longer,

you could also try out a couple of place where ud like it, maybe get a stencil or print out of it n get a friend to place it in a couple of places see where looks best if ur not 100% sure :)
Reply:the lotus flower sounds pretty!

just DONT get it on ur lower back

i like wrists and ankles personally
Reply:U don't need help you've done your homework u know where you want it. U know what it all means(well planned) all u need 2 know is does the colors easily fade or bleed.I would say no....Fading depends on how oaten you're is the sun.I think your OK.
Reply:Don't get a tattoo. The human race I thought had advanced far enough where they didn't feel they needed to treat themselves as a bill board, or a need for permanent ID on their bodies, such as we do to cattle. If you must get something, get something that comes off in 2-3 weeks, I think they have those out their. Finally, when you get into your 40's plus, and your skin starts to spread if your fat, or wrinkle if your skinny, think how you will look. Trust me, you will regret getting permanent ink on your wonderful God given body.

Does a tat on top of foot near ankle wear off easily?

I practice yoga and would like a lotus flower on my foot closer to the ankle. I understand the pain levels cuz I have 2 other tats but am concerned about it wearing off and having to be redone. I'm usually barefoot or in flipflops and occasionally tennis shoes. If there's nothing rubbing the skin I figure it will last longer.

Does a tat on top of foot near ankle wear off easily?
I have a star on my foot close to my ankle %26amp; its been there for almost 3 yrs. I tan, go out in the sun %26amp; do all sorts of stuff %26amp; it hasnt worn or faded yet! But alot of it fading might depend on what color you get. Mine is just plan black. I hope this helps! Good Luck :)
Reply:if you do everything as the artist tells you in taking care of it you should be just fine, but the healing of tats on the foot can be a little slow because of al the movement
Reply:I had a tattoo done on my ankle over a decade ago and it has yet to fade at all despite the fact that I usually wear boots.Don't think it makes much difference, the ink goes so deep that it'll never fade very much. Its there for life!!
Reply:tats don't generally wear off, but they do fade when in a lot of sun light. just keep sunscreen on it, when you don't have on socks and shoes.

i have 3 tats, one on my shoulder, lower back and on my ankle. the oldest one is 9 years old on my shoulder and i have never had to touch up or anything, and the color is as bright as it was when i first got it. i work in an office so it stays covered up and it has not worn off. tats are ink in the skin, they won't wear off.
Reply:tats dont wear off
Reply:if done right the tat will last as well as all others. But do know that it hurts more getting one there then other places
Reply:I have 4 tattoos one on the top of my foot I have not had mine long (only 6months) but my aunt has one on her foot of lady bugs in grass and she has to get hers touched up almost every year I think tattoos fade more from being exposed to the sun then from the rubbing of your clothes so you need to keep moisturizing it and if you are going to be out in the sun put sunscreen on it. it also depends on what the tattoo is and the colours I have a tattoo on my lower back that needs touching up BAD it is a stencil looking butterfly (black) that has tribal lines on either side of it and it has blue and pink stars around it my stars are fading really bad and I asked about getting it touched up when I got my one on my foot and because the girl who did my back tattoo quit I would have to pay for it to be touched up and they also said that the reason they were fading was because she didn't put a black outline around the stars they are just colour and he said that black outlines help keep the colour in . good luck and F.Y.I my foot tattoo is the smallest of my tats and was the last one I got done and it was the most painful ! I could barely sit Through it and my back one is like 10x the size
Reply:A tat can never come off because the ink is in the skin and will not come off if you got a henna
Reply:tats donot wear off deary.

they fad in the sun,and over many years

become ink blobs.

but they do not wear off...
Reply:Tattoos become your skin! They don't rub away! The only thing that will make it fade is sun. The more covered it is the better. I would just keep sunblock of at least SPF 30 on it to keep it from fading. I wouldn't worry about sox or shoes or anything making it fade, cuz it just won't happen. I would be careful when I first get it too, because you don't want your sox or what ever to rub it while it's healing, because it could possibley rub off a piece of scab and that isn't good for your tattoo either. So once it is healed, as long as you keep sun block on it you'll be just fine. Hope this helps!
Reply:They don't just wear off and disappear. Fading is possible, but as long as the tattoo heals fine and you take care of it from sun exposure you should have a vivid and nice tattoo for years. Even if the colors start to lose some luster you can get them touched up.
Reply:We clothes wear all day long, so if that was the case, all tattoo's will wear off.
Reply:Normally speaking, tattoos on feet wear off very quickly from being rubbed off by shoes and socks. (someone above said all tattoos would rub off by our clothes and this is true, they do.) ALL tattoos eventually fade, I have one that is on my hip-close to where my pants rub and it has faded more than my others.

Seeing as how you are mostly barefoot or in flip flops your tattoo should last longer, especially if you get it properly moisturized.

Also, other than re-enduring pain...most places have lifetime warranties on their tattoos..they will touch them up for free at a minimal charge.

Goodluck!
Reply:if it's uncovered a lot, just make sure you keep sunscreen on it and it should be okay. the sun is a major factor in tats fading. so if your other ones are exposed too, use the sunscreen.

Violets. They take my breath a bit every time I see one. In art, a violet stands for faithfulness/loyalty, a rare character trait that I admire very much, too.

Reply:My favourite at the moment would have to be the Musseanda - or Bangkok Rose.
Reply:Cherry Blossoms, because they drift down like pink rain. How cool is that?
Reply:Butterfly Bush. It is so beautiful, smells great and it is a magnet for ,what else, butterflies. Also comes back every year. The prefect plant !
Reply:The Orchid, I have several growing in my house. I amaze people when they come over, "You can actually grow an Orchid?"
Reply:dandelions they are a lot less work
Reply:I only get ONE?? That's tough..hmmm..lol..Blooming Tropicals! LOL! Yeah..I know..that's not just ONE..but I guess if I HAVE to choose one..Hibiscus!

Reply:BANANA AND MANGO SPRING ROLLS WITH COCONUT-CHOCOLATE GANACHE

Ganache

1 (14-ounce) can unsweetened coconut milk*

1/3 cup palm sugar* or 1/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger

8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Spring rolls

8 (8-inch) square frozen spring roll pastry wrappers,* thawed

4 small ripe Chinese bananas (dwarf bananas),* peeled, halved lengthwise, or 2 regular bananas, peeled, halved lengthwise, then halved crosswise

2 Champagne mangoes (small orange kidney-shaped mangoes) or 1 regular mango, peeled, pitted, cut lengthwise into 3-inch-long, 1/2-inch-wide strips

1 egg, beaten to blend

Vegetable oil (preferably grapeseed oil; for frying)

Fresh mint sprigs

For ganache:

Combine coconut milk, palm sugar, and ginger in heavy medium saucepan. Bring mixture to simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add chocolate and whisk until mixture is melted and smooth. DO AHEAD Ganache can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate. Before serving, stir over low heat just until pourable.

For spring rolls:

Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place 1 spring roll wrapper on work surface in diamond shape (1 pointed end toward you and 1 pointed end in opposite direction). Place 1 banana piece across center of wrapper, then 2 mango strips. Fold bottom pointed corner of spring roll wrapper up over fruit, then fold in sides over fruit. Brush unfolded part of spring roll wrapper with beaten egg. Roll up wrapper, enclosing fruit completely. Place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining spring roll wrappers, banana halves, mango strips, and beaten egg. DO AHEAD Spring rolls can be made 4 hours ahead. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Pour enough vegetable oil into heavy deep skillet to reach depth of 1 1/2 inches; heat oil to between 360°F and 375°F. Working in 2 batches, add spring rolls to hot oil and cook until golden and crisp, turning often, about 3 minutes per batch. Using slotted spoon, transfer spring rolls to paper towels to drain.

Place 1 spring roll on each of 8 plates. Garnish with mint sprigs. Drizzle with coconut-chocolate ganache.

Makes 8 servings.

BANANA-WALNUT SPRING ROLLS WITH CARAMEL-RUM SAUCE

The classic appetizer incorporates sweet and luscious ingredients for a terrific dessert from ObaChine in Beverly Hills.

For sauce

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

3/4 cup whipping cream

1 1/2 tablespoons dark rum

For Rolls

12 spring roll wrappers

3 small bananas, peeled, quartered lengthwise, trimmed to 4 inches

1/4 cup toffee bits (such as Skor)

1/4 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts

Vegetable oil (for deep-frying)

Powdered sugar

Chinese five-spice powder

Make sauce:

Stir sugar and 1/2 cup water in heavy medium saucepan over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and boil until syrup turns deep amber, brushing down sides of pan with wet pastry brush and swirling pan occasionally, about 12 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Add cream (mixture will bubble vigorously) and stir until caramel bits dissolve. Remove from heat. Mix in rum. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Chill. Before serving, rewarm over low heat, stirring occasionally.)

Make rolls:

Arrange 4 spring roll wrappers on work surface (keep remainder covered). Place 1 banana piece diagonally across 1 corner of each wrapper. Brush opposite corner with water. Drizzle each banana with 1 teaspoon caramel sauce, 1 teaspoon toffee bits and 1 teaspoon walnuts. Fold in wrapper corner closest to banana. Roll wrapper over banana once, then fold in sides and roll up as for egg roll, pressing ends to seal. Repeat filling and rolling remaining wrappers. (Can be made 2 hours ahead. Cover and chill.)

Pour enough oil into heavy large saucepan to reach depth of 3 inches. Heat oil to 375°F. Working in batches, fry rolls in oil until deep golden brown, turning frequently, about 3 minutes per batch. Using slotted spoon, transfer rolls to paper towels and drain. Arrange 2 rolls on each plate. Sift powdered sugar over. Sprinkle with five-spice powder. Drizzle caramel sauce around rolls and serve.

For tattoos does anybody know which colors would pop out on dark skin.?

im planning to get a lotus flower and butterfly tattoo. so which colors would pop out more

For tattoos does anybody know which colors would pop out on dark skin.?
Yellow or bright pink or something bright that would be really pretty 4 a butterfly and a flower
Reply:it depends on how dark on you are, many hispanics cant have color because they are too dark, just have it done in black and grey, there are many tattoo artists that can do beautiful work in "graywash" i have a few myself but i am white. good luck
Reply:That would be a good question for the artist. That way they can best customize your tattoo to your skin tone/texture to produce the best tattoo for you. My lotus is fuchsia/ purple/ blue/ green/ red/ orange/yellow/ black with various in-between shades, and I love it. good luck.

I need urgent help! I need some clues and answers for treasure hunt games for kids aged 2-10, please?

I'm busy planning my son's 1st birthday party, There will be a lot of kids and their family attending. The party will be boring without games. So I really would want to do a treasure hunt games as well as other which I have covered. It is treasure hunt that has been so difficult to plan or organize as I don't have the time and idea to do it. So please help me....

And another thing, the treasure hunt can take place indoor and outdoor as in the garden space, but not outside the main gate for safety purposes.

p/s: I have trees, flowers and a lotus flower pond in my garden

Thanks a lot in advanced people...

I need urgent help! I need some clues and answers for treasure hunt games for kids aged 2-10, please?
Well if you are trying to figure out what to hide, you could buy some stuff that your son and the guests really like. Then you can tell them that whatever they find they get to keep. Therefore, it still makes the game a challenge, but will give the kids a determination to find things. So you will have to ask the guests parents what they like. I would advise you to make it something that all the guests will like if they find it. (boys and girls) Another idea is to find candy and you get to keep your candy that you find, but also whoever gets the most candy, gets a special toy.
Reply:You should have the treasure hunt be leading to either the cake or treat for the party or the party bags. Split kids into groups and if your son dosn't want to be competetive, have everyone look. Have each treasure be a puzzle piece that when all are found and put together, is a map that leads to the treasure. Let kids go under things, in closets, or in low or high parts of a tree.

What cannon or text is the Buddhist Flower Sermon translated from?

I. E. is it a translation from the Lotus Sutra, or Pali cannon, I am after the actual origional scriptural reference that the English is translated from. Thanx

What cannon or text is the Buddhist Flower Sermon translated from?
The "Flower Ornament" Sutra is the English title of the Huayen (Chinese) or Avatamsaka (Sanskrit) Sutra.

The title suggests that this teaching is the crowning glory of Buddhist scripture.

The sutra's primary contribution to Mahayana thought is the concept of the interpenetration and unity of all things. Each thing is literally contained in each other thing. Nothing is separate, even in part.

Im getting my first tattoo tonight and im very nervous. Any tips?

Im getting a lotus flower on my foot.

Im getting my first tattoo tonight and im very nervous. Any tips?
No pain killers. Really. No alcohol either. Both are bad before a session, and inferior to the endorphin reactions. Worse, they can inhibit that natural response. One minute you're fine, next the whatever you took wears off and, well, the artist is still working.

A light meal about an hour beforehand will help immensely with blood sugar levels. See if you can keep a bottle of water handy. Some are not keen on coffee as it makes you jittery, plus you need to pee more often. I'm back %26amp; forth on the subject of caffeine, personally.

The statement 'remember to breathe' is due to people's tendency to hold their breathe when in a painful situation. You can hold it quite a while under those situations, enough to pass out.

Bring a chatty friend or an ipod. Don't be afraid to ask for a break if you really need one, but if it's a pain issue early on try to tough out at least the first 15 minutes. Endorphins tend to kick in by then.

Remember how cool the tattoo is going to look. :)

Remember that it really isn't that bad. The pain isn't trivial, and the foot is a daring place to start, but if it really were all that bad would a wuss like me get all this work?
Reply:good. just don't get drunk, or you'll be bleeding like a stuck pig. its good to feel nervous, but like anything else nothing cures fear like first hand experience. the foot is not going to be a terribly painful place to get a tattoo, and if you didn't know they are addictive. so you'll probably wind up get another one at some point in time, and then you'll know what it feels like, its really no big deal. they only pierce three or four of the seven layers of your skin. it feels to me like a very tiny precise series of incisions across my skin not a pain, but a small price your paying for a permanent piece of art on your skin.
Reply:Meditate beforehand to calm your nerves.

Do not drink any coffee or anything with caffeine in it for the rest of the day or else it will be tough to sit still. Bring water with you.

Make sure you approve of the design and placement beforehand. Do not be afraid to tell your artist that you want it slightly higher or maybe a tad over to the left. They are asking you to make sure you like it and will gladly move it wherever you want it.

Remember to stay calm.

When the needle goes in, slowly breath out. They say the oxygen helps the pain. I think it is just you paying attention to your breathing instead of the pain.

If you concentrate on how much the pain hurts then it will hurt that much worse.

Remember to make sure you know full well how to take care of your new ink before you leave. Grab the shop's phone number for any questions you may have tomorrow or the next day.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Try to enjoy yourself.

Good luck.
Reply:there is no real reason to be nervous.. getting a tattoo can be compared to scrapping your arm... i got my first one just over a year ago and truthfully it reminded me of a deep stimulating massage.. i actually fell asleep during part of it.. the needles don't go in far just enough to pigment the skin.. the thing that might make you scared is the buzzing of the gun.. but after the first 15 mins you get use to it... mine took a total of 7.5 hours... (2 sittings) just keep talking to the artist and let them know if you need a break during your sitting...
Reply:Be clam! Im getting one tomorrow. I have plently of expierence with tattoos and piercings, but it still always makes me nervous, and for all the holes in my ears, I cant watch other people get pierced, haha.

Its totally normal.

Be sure you have some water and you ate a GOOD meal beforehand (I found that out when I got my cartilage pierced and then almost fainted).

On your foot, its going to hurt. Usually chatting helps me. Most artists are very friendly, so dont be afraid to ask all the questions you want, and have them talk you through it.

Hope all goes well! Good luck!
Reply:When I got mine I took three tylenol beforehand, which doesn't thin your blood like advil, etc. It took the edge off in a big way! When I got my second tattoo I remembered how easy the first was and didn't take the tylenol. Big mistake, it hurt a lot more without it. For my third, I took tylenol again!

I also took some hard candy to suck on the whole time to keep my blood sugar up. Don't know if it really played a big part, but my experience went incredibly well so it can't hurt!
Reply:When I got mine, I took a bottle of water with me. I took deep breaths and just relaxed. I would definitely agree that the anticipation is worse than actually getting it.

Also, something that helped for me. I had a friend there, so I told her to just keep talking to me about stuff to keep me distracted. It worked :-)
Reply:Dont listen to that other girls suggestion about drinking alcohol! Alcohol thins your blood, so if your drink it beforehand, you will bleed ALOT more. Just stay calm, drink water, take a pain reliever before if you have to, and just think of how it will all be worth it!
Reply:make sure and eat before you go, you dont want to get lightheaded! also drink water, make sure you are well hydrated. I have stars on the top of my foot, you will love your foot tattoo! relax and think about the end result! good luck!!!
Reply:get plenty of water, and bring something cold to drink after its finished. calm down and don't worry about it too much. the anticipation is much worse than actually getting it done.
Reply:Yea I would take Ibuprofen or Advil (something) about 30 minutes before you begin the tattoo.

Also, try to remain as calm as possible.

Talking to the artist does help!
Reply:take a few pieces of hard candy or something with you, or fruit juice that you can eat/drink just to keep your blood sugar up incase you feel like you're gonna pass out.

good luck!
Reply:Take advil/motrin 20-30 minutes before your appointment
Reply:Try not to think about it to much to where you get sick. Just breath. Dont get all freaked out.
Reply:Have a coulpe shots of hard liquor first

Lotus has secrets?

Do you think Lotus Flowers have some spiritual secrets?

Have you ever heard of secrets about lotus?

Lotus has secrets?
Yes, the Egyptian Blue Lotus, in the healing of diseases and various complications of man. The following testimonies give the explanation.

IDENTIFICATION: Nymphaea caerulea (blue lotus) is a water plant growing on the shores of lakes and rivers. It grows along lakes and rivers in wet soil. Also, it is indigenous to Tanzania, Kenya.

Dr. Patricia Rutherford, Biologist, University of Manchester, Confirmed Azur's diagnosis of Schistosomiasis in her bladder tissue. The team was surprised that with all her pain, that she had only taken one thing for it, blue lotus.

Dr. Dave Counsel, Anesthesiologist, University of Manchester, found that Azru dyed her hair red. He tested for drugs. No drugs were detected in Azru. Dr. David Counsel and chemist Vic Garner went to Stapleys Water Garden, and took fresh blue lotus flower samples that had a scent similar to bananas only more fragrant. And from Kew Gardens, they took a small piece of blue lotus flower which was taken from an ancient mummy's tomb, and upon analysis they were both identical, had no narcotic properties, the phytosterols were nearly identical to ginkgo biloba - only richer, the samples also contained bioflavonoids .

Dr. Elizabeth Williamson, Pharmacognosist, University of London, Comparing blue lotus to ginkgo, and that blue lotus appeared richer in flavones. Gingko is free radical scavenger and antioxidant. Blue lotus would have been used for age related diseases and would be useful in mild-alzheimers, migraine headaches, tinnitus, various conditions involving blood flow and circulation. It would be an important herb for both men and women.

Dr. Joan Fletcher, Egyptologist, University of Manchester said that sex was a very important part of Azru's culture, and that she believed that continued use of blue lotus produced sexual vigor and general good health.

Dr. Lise Manniche, Egyptologist University of Copenhagen. Sixty miles up the Nile form The Temple of Karnack in The Temple of Horus, (Horus - The earliest royal god was the shape of a falcon, with the sun and moon as his eyes. The sky-god was the ruler of the day. The many forms of Horus are; Re-Harakhti, Harsiesis, Haroeris, Harendotes, Khenti-irti, Khentekhtay (the crocodile-god), and Harmakhis, which is Horus on the horizons, in which the Sphinx of Giza is considered to be his aspect.) There are many pictures depicting sex, wearing and sniffing blue lotus flowers, and blue lotus flowers are prominently displayed throughout Egypt. In one picture the king is offering a blue lotus flower, the king speaks about the blue lotus flower to the gods and says, "When you look at it's brillance your eyes become dynamic or imbued with dynamic properties, your nostrils dialate". This put many on the wrong path to thinking it must be a drug. Dr. Manniche, believes that blue lotus was used as a general health and sex stimulant, and scent, which was central to a sexually orientated society. Azru had probably used, and served wine, in which a blue lotus flower was floating, and blue lotus tincture or extract had been added, as part of everyday rituals, a sign of rebirth and enhanceing sexual vigor and general good health.

The Egyptian Blue Lotus was traditionally used to relieve pain, increase memory, increase circulation, promote sexual desire, and create feelings of euphoria and ecstacy, without the use of narcotics. According to recent studies, Blue Lotus was found to be loaded with health-giving phytosterols and bioflavonoids. It turned out to be one of the greatest daily health tonics ever found.
Reply:no they don't contain secrets. they are a beautiful symbol of beauty %26amp; coming up out of impurity. lotus flowers grow roots in the mud %26amp; so the idea of a beautiful blossom coming from a dirty place has spiritual significance- enlightenment can come to anyone. another good analogy is that if you have muddy water, the water itself is pure - you just let the dirt settle %26amp; you can see the clean water- we all have that purity inside of us, but we are cloudy in consciousness %26amp; don't realize it.

yes, the lotus also is depicted in Hindu %26amp; Buddhist %26amp; Egyptian imagery.

In the chakra system, each level is related to a color %26amp; each chakra is supposed to have multiple layers, which the petals represent.
Reply:I do not know about secrets. But lotus (Blue-Red-White) has Spiritual significance in Hindu religion.--In Sanskrit lotus is called --Mrinaalini--Padmam--Ambujam--Aravindha... Abjam=golden lotus)--Kamala-Nalini--Kumudham--

Puskara=blue lotus (seat of Brahma--Brahma has only One Temple in the whole world in Puskar-Rajasthan)--Rajeeva=Blue lotus(compared eyes of sri .Rama).---Swedha Padmam=White Lotus(seat of sri.Saraswathi)---Chaarunaalaka=Red lotus(seat of sri.Lakshmi)

Honey collected from only lotus flowers by bees, is said to increase longivity (Rasaayana) in Ayurvedhic Texts..Some people in Uttaraanchal-Kashmir used cover and seal small ponds with lotus plants using transparent Plastic covers(like Green Houses) and cultivate a particular small species of Honey Bees to collect un-contaminated pure Honey of lotus flowers. We (in Govt Ayurvedic Research Institute) inspected one such specimen-pure transparent with No colour-I do not know how far the claim was genuine!!---not the light red colour of usual honey

P.S.:-Utpala,Nalina, Pankaja,Sarasija,Hema Abja all are not appearing in the main post
Reply:Yes. Aravinda (Sanskrit) is the birth place of Lord brahma from the navel of Sri maha vishnu. Lotus is the seat of Godess Lakshmi/Saraswati/Lalitha etc. Lotus has lot of importance in Yoga depicting the human system starting from kundalini. Lotus is supposed to be shape of universe. Padma is another name. Though i cannot exhaustively discuss here, I am sure that Lotus has lots of philosophical and religeous importance embedded with several hidden explanations in Hindu philosophy.
Reply:Friend,

If you can understand LOTUS and ITS PETALS and THE LETTERS ON IT, you understood everything.

Try to see the colours and their significance of Lotuses,

god bless you.
Reply:The Egyptians would put the Blue Lotus in wine and drink it. Mixed with wine it was supposed to have sedative properties and was used as an aphrodisiac. They also believed that Ra came from a cosmic lotus.
Reply:Do you mean the thousand petalled lotus - key to enlightment??

How much would a half sleeve tattoo cost?

I live in Dc and I wanted to know what is the average cost of a half sleeve tattoo. I want two koi fish transforming into 2 dragons with lotus flowers. I understand that each tattoo artist may charge differently, but there has to be a base right?

How much would a half sleeve tattoo cost?
There is no base. Each artist is different. Look at portfolios first, don't worry about cost. Quality costs. If you go looking for a bargain you will get shoddy work.

Once you find the artist whose style is what you want, talk to them. Tell them you want a full sleeve, either bring them what you have drawn up or have them draw it.

I have a full backpiece that has taken almost a year to complete. I go in whenever I have 2 or $300 to spare and we work around that.

A good artist will always be able to work something out. You wouldn't want a full sleeve done in one session anyway, since your skin swells and gets irritated.
Reply:you've already pretty much answered your question. depending on the experience of the artist and the establishment they work at the price could range anywhere from 500-1000 bucks. another factor you have to add in is the amount of detail and shading that you want. the more detailed the more expensive. also how many colors do you want. the more color the more expensive. i know most smaller less known shops start at a base of around $50-75 while larger and better shops start at $100 an hour.
Reply:I'm out in California so take my knowledge with that in mind. But from what I've seen, and I've got quite a bit of ink work done over the years and around the world, it varies greatly from artist to artist, and shop to shop. They can vary from charging for the piece, not a smart choice, to charging by the hour. I feel that by the hour is a much more fair way to do it. Now, I've been charged a pretty wide range of prices by the hour too. So it really comes down to the artist. Choose based on whether or not the artist does the work you like in the style you want it. BE PICKY. Especially for a piece that big. Pick through their portfolio's like crazy. Once you find one, then discuss price. A lot of them will start out charging a certain amount but after a while, if you're getting a lot of work done, they'll work with you on the price. Good luck. New tat's are really exciting.
Reply:It depends on the detail, the artist, colors, ect. it doesnt cost anything to go into a trusted shop and explain what youre wanting and getting a quote on a price. There really isnt a significant answer to this untill you go in and ask for yourself.. good luck.. %26lt;3BrE

Is anyone interested in getting paid for drawing my tattoo?

Overall, I want it to look like a morphing vine (thorny/creepy to leafy/swirling). It will start on my lower back with thorny vines. Then it will progress up my spine and over my left shoulder, morphing into a swirly and leafy vine. The vine will end above my left breast and sit underneath a lotus flower. (Possibility of vine wrapping around my left breast?)

Is anyone interested in getting paid for drawing my tattoo?
You need to work with a tattoo artist for this. A lot of the shape and styling has to match your body structure and you are very "structure" specific in this.

A professional tattoo artist generally works the art fee into the tattoo so you would otherwise be paying more for it having to pay someone separate for the art work and then likely modification fees by the tattoo artist.
Reply:I'm an artist and am very inspired to do the design as you are requesting.

the artist you'll end up going to is not on Yahoo Answers

therfore, you won't get an accurate answer on here.

Ratest vary quite a bit from shop to shop/artist to artist

it could be anywhere from $2.50 and some Big League Chew at Skeezy Joe's Basement Shop

to $2000 at some high priced shop in L.A

and for the life of me I still can't understand why people insist on getting estimates on the internet

but to give you an ignorant answer just in case that's what you're really looking for......

$946.57exactly
Reply:Around 200-300 I'd say. Take your design to a local shop and have them draw it up for you and give you a price.
Reply:well my girl friend has something like that and it costed her 700 with color so about 400-500 is about right.

I would say my body is worth 10,000.00 dollars in tattoos!
Reply:We can't tell you, because we don't know where you're going, but I'd estimate $300-$400 at the least.
Reply:$200 for a 10x4 tattoo? Jesus. I wouldn't pay less than $500.

I'm looking for an insect that lives amongst the lotus flowers preferably from China or India?

it's for an existing tattoo i have.

I'm looking for an insect that lives amongst the lotus flowers preferably from China or India?
Bumble bee is reported in sanskrit literature in India to have its abode in lotus flowers. It is a large, black omnious looing insect that can bore wood easily but does no harm to the delicate petals of lotus. It makes distinct sound like an aeroplane flying far away from you.Its bite is nasty, so one should keep away from it.

Blue lotus/water lilly question for someone who has one or florist knowledge?

I love the look of blue lotus flowers or blue or purple water lillies. I know they open and close constantly and grow in water.

I'm getting married soon and I really would like to have this flower as one of my flowers. Is this not going to work? Is this a type of flower that will not hold up to being cut and put in a bouquet or atop a cake? Anyone know a good online site where I can find really nice ones?

Looking for Water Lilies or lotus?
Given enough notice, a florist can arrange to have almost anything made and delivered on time. Best advice is to talk to your local florist for options and prices.

Good luck with your problem.
Reply:THEY HAVE THEM AT THE AGWAY STORE IN PUGHTOWN PENNSYLVANIA AGWAY FARMSTORE ON RT 100 THE PHONE NUMBER IS 610 469 9238 THEY HAVE THEM FLOATING IN THE FOUNTAIN ON DISPLAY....MAYBE THEY CAN GIVE YOU THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES THEM...GOOD LUCK
Reply:Speaking as a florist, your request is something that is just not possible. As an alternative, you could try a silk water lily, and use fresh greenery and babies breath....the look would be accomplished and I believe that you would be very happy with the results.

waterlilies or lotus because they don't last like other flowers

Mine have never lasted more than a day, so it certainly wouldn't be profitable for a florist to handle

What's the difference between a Lotus Flower and a Water LIlly ?

Everyone has a tattoo of them and some call it a lilly, others call it a lotus... Someone tell me what the difference is...

What's the difference between a Lotus Flower and a Water LIlly ?
a lotus is a type of water lily, it is called a "sacred water lily" the term water lily is just to describe the general flower. there are many different types. like a "rose" there are tons of different types of roses.
Reply:Besides the leaves, the actualy flowers vary in size. The water lily is only the size of your hand while the lotus flower is the size of your arm.
Reply:The leaves of the water lily sits on the water, but the lotus rises and its leaves sit up to four feet above the water. Read more on the site referenced.

Land of the lotus?

in the odyssey, what is the name of the place where they eat the lotus flower and never want to go home?

Land of the lotus?
They just call it the "Land of the Lotus-Eaters". It is an island located near Northern Africa. People living on this island is known as Lotophagi.

The island of the Lotophagi may be the modern Djerba (largest island off North Africa, located in the Gulf of Gabes off the coast of Tunisia). It is a likely candidate because there are very few islands on the North African coast; however, Herodotus says that the Lotophagi live on a peninsula, not an island.
