The "Flower Ornament" Sutra is the English title of the Huayen (Chinese) or Avatamsaka (Sanskrit) Sutra.
The title suggests that this teaching is the crowning glory of Buddhist scripture.
The sutra's primary contribution to Mahayana thought is the concept of the interpenetration and unity of all things. Each thing is literally contained in each other thing. Nothing is separate, even in part.
