it means "strength"

if so, should i add something to it?

somone showed me this picture and i fell in love with it, but i want to be orriginal, because this is someone elses tatoo.

what do you think?

oh, and i'm putting it in between my sholder blades.

The tattoo i'm getting. what do you think?
Hi sweetheart,

I understand what you mean, you want the top tattoo but instead of the arabic you'd like the symbols.

I think that'd be gorgeous, the colours in it are lovely, and its very feminine. I think it'd look good where you want it too. 100% go for it!!!

Just make sure you pick a great artist, and dont pick one on price. Look at their work and see how good they are!!! Dont forget, they only put their best work on display.
Reply:GET THEM BOTH
Reply:That's pretty cool, I would try and see if the tattoo artist can incorporate the symbol into the flower or with it...I think that's a good placement too...between the shoulder blades : )
Reply:My take on all tattoos, including ur lotus flower is....what is it going to look like when ur 60 ? tho I must say, where u plan on putting it can be covered when ur old and gray. The same can`t be said for girls who have tattoos on their arms and lower legs. The first photo is nice, I must admit.
Reply:ya put the symbol there instead
Reply:I think it is a very lovley tattoo! Enjoy getting you flower. The kanji is a great idea also!
Reply:I think that it would look good with just the flower.
Reply:Why don't you try two dogs fornicating on your forehead!!!
Reply:I like the lotus. I am really not a fan of Chinese lettering, but if you like it, go for it!
Reply:well the lotus flower is very cute... i like it alot...but i dont like the idea of putting the chinese symbol in it i dont think that would look right.... a lotus flower symbolizes entertainment so u want something thas eye catching like this stuff... here is some links..good luck!!

newayz i like em so good luck again!!!

i think this tat is pretty nifty i like it
Reply:why dont ya ask if he can combine the two somehow :D ?
Reply:Love the top one...its great
Reply:OMG MA EX GOT THA FIRST ONE, I NO IT MEANS POWER. THA FLOWER AND THA SIGNS LOOK OK, NOTHING SPECIAL. ITS AIIGHT BUT U SHOULD TRY TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE THATS DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE.
Reply:good tattoo but make it original by changing different things and changing colors that way your tattoo will be unique tattoo are an expression of your self
Reply:The first one was way cute!!! Never get chinese symbols unless you are 1000% sure you know what they mean. Also, YOU'RE the one who has to live with this for the rest of your life. You need to make the decision yourself!!!
Reply:i suggest finding pictures of lotus flowers that you like and taking the pictures to a tattoo artist and letting them create something unique for you. you are right for not wanting to get someone else's tattoo. it REALLY sucks when people rip off other people's stuff. as for having symbols for languages which you don't understant or have any cultural ties to is dumb in my mind but whatever, it is your body. have you tried looking up pictures of real lotus flowers? i think they are absolutely beautiful and there are so many colors and styles.

Reply:Don't get a tramp stamp.
Reply:just get the flower...otherwise it is just too much for one place.
Reply:They are both great, but I like the lotus, as long as it's only the black part, without the color and smoke.
Reply:are you sure it means strength?

http://hanzismatter.com

the symbol for strength (chikara) is simply 力

I'd stick to the flower, it's safer. If you really want a kanji tattoo make sure you ask the opinion of a native speaker.

======================================

力 = strenght, power

量 = quantity, weight, amount

力量 = "physical strenght," ability, capacity

if you want the symbol that best represents strength that's 力
Reply:You better make sure that that tattoo really means strength.

When I say the first one, I automatically thought "Butt" for the location.
Reply:if you want to be original, don't get a tattoo between your shoulder blades, get it where your butt cheek meets your thigh and your name in cursive is always a good way to go.
Reply:I think it's great, it's a very nice choice, get the writing in it as well, I can picture it and it looks fantastic. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks, even me, it's your tattoo and you have to be happy with it. You will never get everyone to agree that its great, so as long as you like it, go for it!
Reply:Dont care if other people like your final product its your tat your body. Put it where you want and get what you want. Dont live your life for others.I don't know if this tat has any real meaning to you. Just don't get the same exact flower. Take your ideas to your artist and have him draw up a custom one for you. You can bring him the pics to help him see what you want. You should have something more you. Something you came up with. Something that describes your inner self not someone else.
Reply:A lotus traditionally signifies impregnibility/immuneness. Most girls I know do it as a sign of beauty to signify their womanhood. In China, it means immortality. So skip the kanji for "strengh/power" %26amp; just get the lotus instead.
Reply:If you really have to have tattoo get the first one but if you want my honest opinion, i would tell you not to ever get a tattoo.)
Reply:First off, this is YOUR tattoo. You shouldn't care what other people think. This is going to be a part of you and only you until the day you die. If the lotus is that symbolic and special, get it. If the strength symbol is just as important, go ahead and throw that in, too. you can always go back and add it if you aren't sure about it at first.
Reply:Get the one with the flower its way cool
Reply:Tribal is out of style
